The practice
What is Guided Meditation?
In a guided meditation, an instructor gently leads you through the practice with spoken cues. Rather than trying to “empty your mind”, you are invited to rest your attention on something simple — the breath, sounds, or sensations in the body — and to come back to it whenever the mind wanders.
Wandering is completely normal. Noticing it and returning, again and again, is the practice.

Practices You’ll Explore
Breath awareness
Simply noticing the natural rhythm of the breath — no need to control or change it. A steady anchor you can return to at any time of day.
Guided relaxation
A gentle, step-by-step journey of attention through the body, inviting tension to soften along the way.
Visualisation
Calming imagery — a quiet place, light, or nature — to support a sense of ease. You’re always free to simply rest instead.

A Two-Minute Breath Practice
- Sit comfortably — on a chair with your feet flat on the floor, on a cushion, or lying down if that suits you better.
- Let your hands rest wherever they feel at ease. Lower your gaze or close your eyes.
- Notice the breath moving in and out. Feel where you sense it most — the nostrils, chest or belly.
- When your mind wanders, gently note “thinking” and return to the next breath.
- After a couple of minutes, take a slightly fuller breath, open your eyes and notice how you feel.
If focusing on the breath ever feels uncomfortable, rest your attention on sounds around you, or the contact of your feet with the floor instead.

Each session runs for 60 minutes. Between classes, even a few minutes a day can be a meaningful way to keep the habit going.
